I have one which is 22 x 14mm in size, 27.48 Carat and out of curiosity I asked a Jeweler in town how much it would be worth.
When I gave her the specifications she said around $6000!
Is this true?
I'm finding it hard to believe!

Answer: G'day Anne and many thanks for your query.
It seems your jeweler may not know what they are talking about - but you have to be sure that you actually have an Ametrine in the first place (maybe they thought it was a multicolored Sapphire because you are in Australia?).
Have you have it tested?
I would say she may have added one to many zeros on to the 'Ball-Park' figure and you can easily do a comparison shop by checking eBay or one of my favorite websites here:

It will give you a better understanding of what's in the market place today.
