Duty Of Disclosure

Legal and Ethical Issues

When measuring and specifying details or 'Valuing' your own Gemstones, it is easy to forget any problems which may occur, but you should be aware (especially if you are using our 'Online Gemolgical Lab Reports'), that you still have some 'Moral' obligations, if only to yourself...

Your Obligations or 'Duty of Disclosure'....

If you 'Knowingly' fill in misleading or false information into the 'software' and then try to pass on that Certificate as a true identification, then you are not only guilty of Fraud, but morally you are also guilty of misleading any other parties associated in the financial transactions arising from the sale of your item OR a claim for insurance in the event of loss.

You would be defrauding the Insurance company, for example. A serious offence.

If you made such a claim for replacement, if lost or stolen, and sub-sequentially it is proven you made an incorrect statement which resulted in misleading weights and measures or even an incorrect identification of the Gemstone under review on the Gemstone Specification Lab Report and Certificate, then you are guilty of Fraud.

The moral of the story is to be 'Careful' as ultimately, you will only be fooling yourself.
