Question: Is BC Jade a type of nephrite?

(Sidenote: - When we first received this question we didn’t know what the client meant by BC. It turns out to be British Columbia in Canada - Duhhh).

I’m not quite sure what you mean by BC Jade? What does the BC stand for?
Jade is ‘Generally’ considered to be one of two minerals. The first is Jadeite and the other Nephrite.
There are many Trade names and variations to these including New Zealand Greenstone - for example.
However there are quite a few ‘green stones’ which can be mistaken for Jade such as Serpentine or Chrysoprase etc.
